Purple Dragonflies week of 12/7

Happy December Purple Dragonfly Families… YES, December!!

We are entering the final two weeks of class for 2015 and we continue to be VERY busy with activities here at school; preparing the children for the wonderful celebration of Jesus’ birth, as well as of course, the arrival of  you know who :-)!

We are all enjoying discussing some of the traditions that take place during this time of year, both here at home and across the globe.  The children had a wonderful time decorating shoes for the arrival of St. Nicholas, a tradition originating from all over Europe.  In the coming weeks, we’ll be talking about the tradition of Christmas trees, gingerbread, La Befana, Las Posadas, and much, much more.  As I said, a very busy time.

The Preschool is offering various Parent and Family Activities over the next two weeks.  Please read below and mark your calendars.  We hope you join in the fun and community spirit and maybe start some new family traditions at the same time.

  • December 10 – Parent Coffee Talk.  Come enjoy a cup of coffee and sharing with Ms. Tracy.  I will have a topic in mind, but if you have one about parenting, preschool or Holy Trinity, please bring it and get to know some of your fellow families.  9-10am
  • December 11 – PARENTS NIGHT OUT  back by popular demand for the holidays. Sign up on the communication board in the lobby. 5-9 pm
  • December 17 & 18.  Celebrating Jesus’ birthday with cake, caroling and a Christmas story played out by our very own preschoolers!  12:30 – 1pm.  Be here if you can!
  •  December 18 (Night) – We are offering a fun family celebration from 6-7pm with “Bonding to the Beat”.  Kandice will lead families in caroling, instruments and dancing, followed by hot chocolate and cookies.  There is a $10 per family charge for this event  and you must sign up in the preschool lobby by December 17.
We know that this time of year can be hectic, busy and sometimes overwhelming, for parents AND children.  We will do our best in class to help your children feel the love and spirit of the season, and as always keep them close in our hearts to make sure they can enjoy all that surrounds them.

You too, take time to breathe during this blessed season.  We hope to see you at some of these special Holy Trinity Preschool events if they fit into your schedules.  Happy December!!
